Harvard University is one of the best universities in the world.
In other words, it is very hard to enter the school. You have to study very hard to get accepted there. Recently, an African-American girl surprised the world by entering Harvard University. Her name is Khadijah Williams. She doesn¡¯t look very special. She is just a normal-looking girl with a cute smile. So, why people are so amazed by her? If you are curious to know, keep reading and find out!

Khadijah Williams is called the ¡°Harvard Girl¡± or ¡°Smart Girl.¡± But there are already so many smart girls in Harvard. So, why is she so special? Don¡¯t be surprised. She had been homeless for many years before she entered Harvard! She didn¡¯t have a home to live. She had to move from one shelter to another with her mother in California.

Khadijah was born in New York, but she moved to California with her mother. Before she entered university, she has attended 12 schools in 12 years. Sometimes she slept on the streets with other homeless people. She learned how to survive on the streets from them. She had to hunt for food and search for a safe place to sleep at night. It wasn¡¯t an easy life for the young girl. But she didn¡¯t give up hope and decided to study hard.

Khadijah realized at an early age that she had to study hard if she wanted to succeed. The smart girl was a very good student at school. When she was only 9 years old, she received almost perfect test scores. Her teacher said, ¡°You are gifted.¡± Then, she joined the special classes for gifted children.

Recently, Khadijah graduated from high school with high honors. Surprisingly, she was accepted to more than 20 universities in America, including Brown and Columbia. But she chose a full scholarship to Harvard. Now she is studying very hard at Harvard to become a lawyer.

Despite all the hardships and difficulties in life, she made her dreams come true. We are very proud of you, Khadijah! Congratulations!
