am a huge fan of soccer. And my
favorite player is Korea’s Park Ji-sung.
I bet he is loved by many people
in Korea. On second thought, I think
he is loved by many people all over the world.
Park was born on February 25, 1981 in Seoul. As a young boy, he showed
great talent in all sports. But,
Park loved soccer the most. As a kid, Park
was determined to become a soccer player. So, he worked hard and eventually became a soccer
player in university. He made his first appearance in the 2000 Sydney
Olympics. Guus Hiddink, Korea’s head coach saw his amazing talent. Guus decided to train Park for the 2002 World
Cup.
Park instantly became a star and
the nation’s hero. Park showed
he could score goals and make winning plays. He led the
Korean team to finish fourth in the 2002
World Cup. Park followed his mentor, Guus Hiddink to play
for a Dutch team. In 2004, Park
was scouted by Manchester United.
Manchester United is one of the best teams in the world. And it has
the world’s best players. Amongst the world’s fastest
and strongest players, Park played very well.
He showed the world that an Asian can play as good as a westerner. The
World Cup will open in 2010. Now, Park will become a senior player for the team.
Let’s hope he can lead Korea to win many games
in the 2010 World Cup. |
