Girls and 2NE1 are really amazing female groups. But there
is one more group everyone loves. The group even sold more than 100,000 copies
of their albums. How popular are they? In a survey kids chose them
as the stars they want to meet the most. Let me tell you each member’s
names. They are Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun,
Taeyeon, Jessica, and Sunny! Phew, that’s a lot. Yup,
there are 9 members in the group Girls’ Generation!
Although there are many members, each one was trained in singing and
dancing by professional teachers. They were also trained to act and
model. For example, Yoona is now also known as an actress. Did you
know the group had a different name at first? The first name was Super
Girls. But as you know, there is Super Junior. So, they decided to go with Girls’
Generation.
 In
August 2007, their album came out. The title song was “Into the New
World.” The title of their next song was actually same as the group’s
name. “Girls’ Generation” became a big hit. And the girls topped all charts in Korea.
In 2008, a new song called “Baby Baby” was released. It was also a
big hit. After a short break, the girls returned
in 2009 with the song “Gee.” This song became the longest running number 1 in all music
charts. Gee wasn’t just loved in Korea. People in Thailand also loved
the song. Because they were so popular, the girls even had a concert
in Thailand.
Now, the girls have a new song. It’s called “Tell Me Your Wish.” And
the song is getting so much attention like all their
previous songs. We love you
