The motor vehicle is an essential part of our lives. Without cars, our lives would be very uncomfortable. So, when was the car invented? Who invented it? And how does the car work? At the Kids Motor Show, you will be able to satisfy all of these curiosities about cars. It is being held in COEX in Seoul until March 1. On January 17, 4 Kids Reporters went to the motor show to learn all about cars! The reporters who joined this meaningful visit are: Jeong Seung-hwan (Seoul Gadong Elementary School), Shin Dam-hee (Buljung Elementary School), Kim Jee-won (Jungang Elementary School), and Daniel Koo (Kyonggi Elementary School).

The entrance to the exhibition hall had a funny look. It looked like a yellow bus! As we entered the hall, we could see many interesting things! We could see a model of an early car and learn about the history of cars. We could also learn about the science behind cars through some experiments. There were guides in each section of the show and they helped us understand more about cars! So, what did the Kids Reporters learn there? Here¡¯s what they have to say about their fantastic experience at the motor show.

Jeong Seung-hwan
I visited the Kids Motor Show early this morning with 3 other Kids Reporters. There were lots of people there. We learned many things there. First, we learned about tires from experts. They explained the history of tires. We saw a tire that was made of 100% wood a long time ago. Later, wooden tires with steel wheels were invented. The tire that we use today was invented later. I hope better tires come soon! I think maybe someday there will be a car that doesn¡¯t have tires.
We also learned about the wings of sports cars. Many sports cars have wings at the back. I was always curious as to why sports cars have wings on the back and now I know the answer!
Also, I went Kart racing with the other reporters. It was really fun because it was actual driving! I know that many kids want to drive but they can¡¯t because they don¡¯t have a driver¡¯s license. So it would be a very good experience for kids to drive a real car! The Kids Motor Show was very interesting and had many good things.

Shin Dam-hee
I went to the Kids Motor Show at COEX on January 17 with my little sister and other Kids Reporters. I learned some new things about cars that I really want to share with all of you guys. We learned about the history of car development. The ways to start up a car were different before. These days, we use a car key. However, a long time ago, people used the fly wheel to start up a car. Later, the crank handle was used.
Then, people invented the car pedal. Do you know that cars with pedals were mostly used by the army? Finally, people started using the car key. We learned about engines, too! Are you curious about where the gas goes? I¡¯ll tell you the answer. The gas goes into an engine part called a cylinder.
Later that day, we drove a car at the Kids Motor Show. My sister was so young that she couldn¡¯t ride it by herself. So, I had to ride it with her. The Kids Motor Show was so much fun! I learned so much many things there. It was cool to learn many new things about cars. I hope you could learn something about cars from me!

Kim Jee-won
I went to the Kids Motor Show in Seoul! It was my first time to go to Seoul by myself. So I had to ask people how to get there. Finally I got there and met with other Kid Reporters! I was very excited! First, we learned how the first cars looked and the history of cars. Next, we learned about the complicated science behind the car.
There, we learned how the pulley works inside the car and how the engine works. I didn¡¯t know that there are so many scientific facts behind each part of the car. I was able to learn more about the car there than anywhere else. I will never forget this experience. It was an absolutely unforgettable trip!

Daniel Koo
I went to the Kids Motor Show. It was very exciting because I had an interest in inventing before! First thing we saw was Leonardo da Vinci¡¯s car design. Then, we learned about the history of engines. I also saw a kind of engine experiment. I got a little frightened because it showed an engine explosion. Then, there was some car racing that we actually tried. But it was too slow and there were so many children waiting for it. The most impressive thing was the eco car. It is an environmentally-friendly car.
The eco car is a non-polluting car. So it helps us keep our environment clean. Eco cars use a lot of things like wind, water, and solar energy from nature instead of gasoline. I think it will be very cool to own an eco car. From now on, I¡¯m going to try to invent things that don¡¯t pollute our environment!
