Many children all over the world love Harry Potter books. The books are about a boy wizard named Harry. The Harry Potter series were written by British author J.K. Rowling. She became very famous with her books.
Rowling has countless fans all over the world including in France. Surprisingly, even the French President is her big fan! Last Tuesday, President Nicolas Sarkozy paid homage to her. On February 3, Rowling was presented the French Legion of Honor award at the presidential palace in Paris.

¡°Thanks to your internationally famous story, French children started reading books again!¡± Sarkozy said as he gave the award to Rowling. ¡°With you, they understand that reading is not a punishment, but a source of pleasure.¡±
There is another surprising fact. One of Rowling¡¯s great-grandfathers, who was French, had received the same award in 1924 for his courage in a battle during the First World War! ¡°The Legion of Honor has a special meaning for me,¡± Rowling said. Congratulations, Rowling!
