Spring is just around the corner! The weather is getting warmer and warmer. Many people are waiting for spring to come. Spring means a fresh new start. Your new semester begins in spring and you will meet new teachers and friends. All kinds of beautiful flowers will bloom soon, too! So, are you ready to start afresh? Why don¡¯t you clean your room this weekend to make a fresh new start? Here are some tips for getting your room in shape!

Step-by-step Cleaning List

1. Pick up all trash in your room such as candy wrappers and soda cans. Put them in the trash can. Then empty the trash can.

2. If there are any cups or dishes in your room, take them to the kitchen. Also, if you have any leftover food, throw it away. You don¡¯t want to invite flies or ants into your room, right? Then, don¡¯t leave any food in your room!

3. Organize your clothes. Pick up dirty clothes and then put them in the washing machine. Make sure you only wash your dirty clothes. Don¡¯t make your mom find clean clothes in the wash. Fold your clean clothes and put them away, or hang them in the closet.

4. Put your books back on the bookcase. Before you do that, sort them into three piles: books that belong to your room, books that belong to other parts of the house, and books that belong to the library. The first pile should be placed on a bookcase in your room. The second pile should be placed in other parts of the house. Of course, you have to return the books that belong to the library.

5. I¡¯m sure you have many papers all over your room! Assort them into three kinds: trash, papers to keep, and papers that belongs somewhere else. It may take some time to do this. But it¡¯s worth it! You will have a fresh-looking desk!

6. Now, take a look at the floor. You will be able to find many things that are scattered all over. For example, pens, pencils, toys and even photos! Of course, you have to pick them up and place them where they belong. If you find something that you are not using anymore, throw it away!

7. Now, look around your room. It looks very nice and neat, right? But wait! You still missed something. What is it? Aha! Open your windows and start vacuuming and dusting! And don¡¯t forget to wash your desk, windows and mirrors, too. Lastly, try to do this more often to keep your room clean and healthy!
