This week, let¡¯s learn about an animal that is a great companion. Think the article is about dogs? Sure, they are great companions. But, in this article, we will discuss parrots. There are countless breeds of parrots. Just like dogs, there are many different kinds with unique features.
All parrots have curved beaks. They have four toes on each foot, two pointing forward and two projecting backward. Almost all parrots love eating fruits, flowers, and seeds. Unlike other birds, all parrots don¡¯t eat insects. However, there are some parrots that eat insects.

Parrots are birds that hate the cold. That¡¯s why they can only be found in warm climates all over the world. The greatest diversities can be found in Australasia, Central America and South America. Many parrots are kept as pets. They are intelligent, charismatic and very musical. I bet you¡¯ve seen a parrot talk in a movie.
Well, parrots can really learn human speech. Out of all the parrots, the male African gray parrot uses animal speech the best. Parrots are long living birds. They have can live up to 80 years.

Due to industrialization, many parrots in tropical countries are losing their homes. Many of them are considered endangered. On the other hand, some have migrated to the warm areas of the U.S., and their population is expanding quickly.
