want to introduce you guys to one of the world’s most famous and successful
saxophonists. His name is
Kenneth Gorelick. He is also known as Kenny G. Kenny G is a global
superstar. He is known for his amazing skills with the saxophone.
Of course his long curly hair is also his trademark.
Kenny was born on June 5, 1956 in Washington, in the U.S. As a kid,
Kenny loved jazz music. He started playing the saxophone when he was
only 10 years old. He tried to imitate the sounds of jazz
artists. He was trained by respected professionals. By the time he was in high
school, Kenny was an amazing player.
What’s funny is that at one time Kenny wanted to become an accountant. It was because
he failed to enter a music school in university. He thought a career
in music wasn’t for him.
 Things
changed in 1982 when he signed with a big record company. He soon
worked with beautiful singers like Andrea Bocelli, Whitney Houston
and Natalie Cole. Within only a few years, Kenny’s style on the saxophone
was loved by everyone. As matter of fact, the entire world was in love
with his music.
Kenny is also in the Guinness Book of World Records for playing the
longest note on a saxophone. He played
a note for forty five minutes and 47 seconds! He has 5 platinum albums in the U.S.
Aside from playing the sax,
Kenny is a licensed pilot. He actually flies
his personal jet to concerts and events! He is also a great golfer. |
